Farming

Rural Adventures

A short distance outside Pretoria near the mining town of Cullinan, we have a small farm. Most of the area consists of pristine indigenous Bankenveld bushveld but there is a smaller arable area alongside the Malan spruit River. On this piece of property there are recycled steel growing tunnels and open air lands where vegetables are grown. Some of the products include Spinach, onions, peppers, squashes, tomatoes and others.  The whole farm operates off the grid using Ram pumps for the main irrigation, and then windmills, solar panels etc. Various forms of farming are currently being investigated including hydroponics, tunnel and standard open air, natural earth farming.

Further plans for the farm include weekend accommodation for city dweller to experience non-urban fun shelters (tents, caves, tree houses). Activities would include walking, MTB cycling, farm experience etc..
